I found this book to be very amusing......although I am not really sure what it us about? I guess it is supposed to tell us what it takes to be successful....and I guess the answer is a pretty good line of B.S. That is Malcolm Gladwell' s talent and he is very good at it.
Malcolm, have you ever been to Japan? Have you ever stepped foot into a rice paddy? His notions about how complex and time consuming a rice field is, are pure fantasy and when I think about it, I just can't stop laughing. And somehow, like pulling rabbits from a hat, growing rice makes Asians very good at math. One stalk of rice, two stalks of rice...
Great stuff. His podcasts are full of this nonsense as well, but I must admit, some are thought provoking, but probably not for the reasons Gladwell intended them to be.

In this book, the Outliers, I mostly enjoyed how the author, Malcolm Gladwell, found interesting facts or details that contributes to an individual becoming successful or an outlier. For example, Gladwell looks at,”Demographic Luck” (a.k.a the effect of one’s birth date). Gladwell shows that your birth date can affect whether or not you make a sports team or become smarter than someone else. I enjoyed this aspect because instead of just explaining his theory Gladwell supports it by using many real world examples.
My least favorite aspect of this book is that Gladwell seems to have a contradictory thesis. In the beginning of the book, he states that you must follow the 10,000 hour rule to become an outlier. Later on in the book, he states that you must seize the moment at the right time and at the right place. It seems to confuse the reader whether continuous hard word leads to success or seizing the opportunity at the right moment is the secret to success.
I believe this book is best suitable for high schoolers to read. I think so because there are many things in the story that they can relate themselves to. Many examples used by Gladwell in this book are teenagers or what someone did as a teenager .The book mostly explains all about success, and will be a great inspiration for teens who are striving to be successful no matter what their IQ is.

What the author did with the book is what i liked about it.For example is where he tells us how the date of birth determines if you are going to be good in sports. Another example is where IQ isn't about everything you need to be smart. Like i was saying with the IQ it just doesn't always require an high IQ to be smart for example a layer you just don't need a hi IQ buts also a fast moving thinker so you can back up the defendant.
Now i shall go to the reasons why i don't like the book. For example The theory of plane crashes Because i really don't like to hear about tragedies because i know that the people who died is missing their loved ones.Another reason is the last recordings before the crash of the airplane it just scares me to think i am the pilot of the aircraft and just to see the ground get closer and closer.Those are my reasons why i hate the book.
So the people out there who likes to know more than they already do than this is the perfect book for you people out their. The main reason why i think that is because this book teaches things you most likely didn't know. As you can see with the reason I have put in the paragraph of why i like the book. So this is my review of this wonderful book
