GORTON This review is from: RELICS (Kindle Edition) I wasn't expecting much when I came across this book by an author I had never heard of before but I can honestly say it was one of my best finds ever. The story has a real Dan Brown feel to it and has made waiting for `inferno' that much easier. I was gripped with intrigue from the start and the story continued to gain pace and momentum right up until the last chapter. Full of twist and turns this thriller is possibly the best novel I've read during the last 18 months. When I read a really good book it takes days to get the story out of my mind and this one is still lingering in my thoughts over a week later! I have a feeling I've just come across a new future bestselling author right at the beginning of his career. Very exciting. Well done R.D. and when is your next book coming out?
About the Author
R. D. Shah spent his formative years in the north-west of England before attending Rugby School in Warwickshire. At seventeen, he attained his private pilot's licence in Florida and, shortly after, attended the University of Miami where he studied motion picture and psychology before returning to the UK to work in television and leisure. He has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Russia, and the Americas. R. D. holds a scuba diving licence which he gained along the shores of the Hawaiian island of Kauai. All this experience has prepared him for a career in writing. He lives in Wiltshire with his girlfriend and is currently working on his second book.

a fun, "what if"

This book presents a thrilling case of what might be behind the scenes of Christianity. It handles the church with great respect and accuracy, which makes the adventure all the more realistic. The book has strong language and would have been just as effective Without. I still give it 5 stars!

Dan Brown's less talented cousin???

If Dan Brown had not been a successful writer, this book might have had a chance. That said, note that certain criteria of writings simply "belong" to certain talented authors. Mark Twain would probably not have succeeded as chronicler of the Black Death. Dan Brown is not Stephen King and unfortunately, Mr. Shah is not Dan Brown or even vague imitation of him. Shah knows a little about Catholicism but not enough to convince anyone of his supposed deep into the workings of the Vatican. The entire pretense of the book was almost comedic in nature - I mean, come on!! - a 2,000 year struggle between the Knights Templars and the so called "Magi." over doctrine, a descendent of Jesus, DNA from the crown of thorns and a never fully explained need to own the "INRI" plaque...Huh!!!??? The only thing Shah did not "export" from other works was the Illuminati. the St. Claires and Leonardo DaVinci's role as an overseer. Now if Shah could find a decent copywriter to correct the typos and a slightly more efficient research staff to straighten out some of the historic discrepencys and of course knock off Dan Brown, then he might just have a chance of selling this work to broader audience.
